I am a registered?vinologist (vinoloog) from the wine academy of the Netherlands. (Vinoloog is SDEN level 4 in the Netherlands, which is more or less equivalent with the international WSET level 4.)
A vinologist is someone who knows about viticulture, wine making, grape varieties, appellations, and terroirs all over the world. It is not the same as sommelier (someone who serves wine with food at a restaurant) or an oenologist (specialized in the chemical side of wine making).
